Job Description
Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Welder to join our dynamic fabrication and construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing precise welding operations across various projects, ensuring all work meets stringent safety standards and quality specifications. This position offers an opportunity for individuals passionate about craftsmanship, safety, and delivering top-tier results in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings to understand project specifications and welding requirements Measuring, cutting, and shaping metal components using hand tools, plasma cutters, or metal cutting machines Performing welding operations using techniques such as MIG, TIG, Stick, SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, and plasma arc welding Setting up, calibrating, and maintaining welding equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety Inspecting and testing welds to verify structural integrity, proper penetration, and compliance with design and safety standards Applying knowledge of metallurgy and material properties to select appropriate welding methods and materials Maintaining a clean and safe work environment, adhering to OSHA and other safety protocols, and wearing protective gear such as gloves, masks, and boots Repairing or fabricating metal structures and components, including steel, iron, aluminum, and composite materials Collaborating with team members to ensure project deadlines and quality standards are met Foster an open, participative environment that encourages teamwork and individual personal and professional growth and development. As business grows, assist the Company in recruiting new employees for the Company. Adheres to company quality protocols and processes Perform job duties in an ethical, professional manner which is consistent with the DL Shortline handbook' Performs other related duties as assigned by management Skills and Abilites Must be physically able to safely operate customers' and Company Products in both field applications and road transport. Must be capable to safely lift up to 50 lbs. from ground to waist height Must demonstrate the cognitive skills as required by the Position. Must maintain a valid vehicle operator license. Must be insurable (motor vehicle property damage, personal injury and liability) as required by the Company. Ability to work with minimal supervision Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines Qualifications At least five years' current experience in welding and fabrication. Farm background preferred. Above average verbal and written communication skills. Above average interpersonal skills. Demonstrated above average proficiency in the agriculture or trucking industries. Demonstrated ability to coordinate a high level of activity under a variety of conditions and constraints.
