PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
.
- Ability to select equipment and plan part layout: cut, fit material, tack material, and weld out according to Engineering production drawings.
- Layout workpiece per drawing without guidance or current part fixtures.
- Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
- Fits up materials/components/products per blueprints/job specifications within quality standards and allotted routing time.
- Required to set up, and adjust machines, and equipment to produce intolerance acceptable quality products.
- Required to perform quality tests, certifications, and production checks as required by Quality Assurance.
- Required to operate overhead crane, and forklift equipment, safely.
- Operates various tools and other machinery including mag-drill, punch press, horizontal saw, plasma cutter, carbon arc gouging, acetylene torch, and grinders, and other general manufacturing tools safely.
- Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
- Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly.
- Observe all safety and security procedures.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Overtime/weekends are sometimes required.
- Required to ensure no delays in scheduled production.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Must have own reliable transportation.
- Previous experience with 5S and lean manufacturing
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
.
- Proven experience as a fitter welder Comprehend the shop traveler, understand proper method of completing work center sequence, and understand that initialing and dating signify their agreement the work is complete and accurate.
Make mathematical calculations on the product to the proper specifications. Accurately read and use a tape measure, compass, micrometer, mag level, protractor, versa gauge, and caliper Must pass welding test and become Certified within 6 months.
- Highly motivated and willing to solve problems.
