JT Cullen builds complex, high-requirement fabricated structures for customers who expect quality work done right. We support projects across nuclear energy, rail, power, mobility, and heavy industry - work that demands accuracy, consistency, and pride in craftsmanship. We're a family-oriented, 100% employee-owned company. We offer competitive benefits, an employer-funded retirement plan with an optional 401(k), and a workplace that values the people doing the work and the craftsmanship they bring every day. About The Role We are currently looking for welders to support growing fabrication demand across heavy industrial, power, rail, and renewable energy projects. This is hands-on shop work - real steel, real projects, and real expectations. What You'll Be Doing Set up and operate welding equipment (MIG, TIG, Stick, and Sub Arc used as required) Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions Maintain consistent weld quality that meets shop standards Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and basic fabrication drawings Use grinders, clamps, fixtures, and templates to align and finish parts Repair, rework, and modify fabricated components as needed Follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards Work collaboratively with fabrication Leads and teammates to meet production goals Skills We Are Looking For Ability to perform MIG welding in a fabrication or industrial environment Ability to read basic blueprints and weld symbols Strong attention to detail and workmanship Safety-focused mindset Reliable attendance and ability to work independently High school diploma/GED Experience with TIG, Stick, and Sub Arc (preferred, not required) Experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel, or aluminum Prior fabrication shop, structural steel, or heavy industrial experience Strong understanding of welding processes, joint design, and weld quality requirements. Pre-Employment Skills Evaluation Final candidates will complete a weld test as part of the interview process. Testing is administered on site by our Certified Welding Inspectors (CWIs) and welding supervisors to evaluate workmanship and process familiarity. Standing, lifting, grinding, and welding throughout the shift. May occasionally work outdoors. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud. Why JT Cullen? We're not a job shop chasing quick wins. We build complex, high-requirement projects for customers who care about quality, accuracy, and execution. That means steady work, clear expectations, and respect for people who know their trade. If you want to grow your skills and be part of a shop that takes pride in what it builds, apply. We offer competitive pay, strong health and medical benefits, and a work culture that respects work-life balance, values craftsmanship, and recognizes the people who make the work happen. J.T.
