Job Description

Primary Purpose of Role:
The primary purpose of the Tig Welding Technician is to perform tig welding operations on various metal components.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, assemble and fusion weld various metal components using gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), both manual and automatic. Demonstrate ability and skills to certify on all welding techniques for sheet, tube groove, and fillet welds in all base metal groups appropriate to product mix. Inspect weld quality to assure weld joints are of acceptable quality without blowouts, weld beads are consistent, accurate, and meet size and/or other applicable specification, and that proper weld techniques are being followed. Setup, adjust, and verify welding equipment, fixture, jog and machinery is functioning properly and meeting all appropriate specifications for task/operation. Measure and verify welded components meet specified blueprints, sketches and/or specifications using various measurement equipment necessary to task. Perform operations/tasks as specified on router. Dispose of weld rods properly in assigned waste cans.
