Welder responsible for the application to cut and join metals and other materials. This person will operate appropriate equipment to put together parts with a great deal of precision. The ideal candidate will also have a steady hand and great attention to detail. Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties is essential. Follow all site health and safety regulations and a strong work ethic are essential.
Essential Functions:
1. Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures 2. Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements 3. Set up components for welding according to specifications 4. Operate angle grinders and other equipment to prepare parts the must be welded 5. Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces 6. Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions 7. Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to identify and flaws 8. Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety 9. Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.

Abilities:
1. High school diploma or equivalent 2. Must be 18 years of age 3. Knowledge of methods and techniques related to welding 4. Experience using a variety of welding equipment (sub arc and Mig) and procedures 5. Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers, etc.) 6. Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings 7. Professional Certifications (e.g., an AWS welding certification) will be a plus 8. Able to physically stand, bend squat, and lift minimum of 50 pounds 9. Excellent attendance 10. Able to maintain a dependable and flexible work schedule 11. Excellent interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management 12. Must be able to pass weld test 13. Must be able to pass written/driving Tow motor
Test Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
This position operates in a manufacturing environment. At times, the employee will be exposed to manufacturing environment, including forklift traffic, fumes, noise, and operating manufacturing equipment.
Physical Demands:
1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to squat. Must be able to bend at the knees, and flexible enough to work in awkward positions. 2. Must be able to stand and work on your feet for extended periods of time. 3. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and talk or hear. 4. Must be able tolerate fluctuations in temperature and humidity. 5. Must be able to work with hands and have the manual dexterity to use misc. hand tools (i.e. hammer, screwdriver etc.). 6. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 7. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. May also require some weekend work.

No travel is expected for this position.
