at CES in South Elgin, Illinois, United States Job Description Electronics Solderer (Temporary - On Going Need) Creative Electronics and Software (CES) is a privately owned (started in 1989) Contract Electronics and PCB Manufacturer with manufacturing locations in South Elgin IL and Las Vegas NV. We support a diversified customer base that includes: RFID, energy conservation, medical equipment, military, wireless telemetry, gaming & entertainment, smart grid, and industrial controls. Job Summary The Electronics Solderer is responsible for assembling electronic components and subassemblies using hand soldering techniques in a contract manufacturing environment. This role supports high-mix, low- to medium-volume production and requires strict adherence to IPC standards, customer specifications, and quality requirements. Key Responsibilities Perform hand soldering and rework of electronic components on printed circuit boards (PCBs), including: Through-hole (THT) Surface-mount (SMT) Fine-pitch and micro components (as required) Interpret and follow assembly drawings, schematics, bills of material (BOMs), work instructions, and customer specifications Inspect solder joints to

standards (or customer-specific standards) Identify and correct soldering defects such as bridges, cold joints, insufficient solder, and pad damage Perform rework and repair using soldering irons, hot air tools, and other approved equipment Properly handle materials using ESD-safe practices Accurately complete production documentation, travelers, and quality records Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company policies Meet productivity, quality, and delivery requirements in a fast-paced contract manufacturing environment Support engineering, quality, and production teams as needed to resolve issues Follow all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements (ISO, IPC, customer-specific) Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent 1+ years of electronics soldering experience, preferably in a contract electronics manufacturing environment Strong proficiency with hand soldering tools and solder types (leaded and/or lead-free) Working knowledge of

workmanship standards Ability to read and understand technical documentation and work instructions Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination Ability to work with small components under magnification (microscopes or magnifiers) Basic computer skills for documentation and work instruction access Preferred Qualifications IPC J-STD-001 and/or
IPC-A-610
certification (current or previous) Experience with high-mix / low-volume electronics manufacturing Experience with rework, repair, or modification of PCBs Familiarity with aerospace, medical, industrial, or automotive electronics standards Ability to cross-train in additional assembly or inspection processes Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. as needed Good vision (corrected if necessary) to inspect fine-pitch solder joints Ability to use hand tools repetitively Work Environment Must be able to withstand changes in temperature Exposure to soldering fumes ESD-controlled work areas This is an on-going need but the selected person will be employed via CES' staffing partner and not an employee of CES.
Starting Pay Range:
$16 - $18 per hour
