Job Overview McKinney Steel and Sales is hiring an experienced Steel Fabricator / Structural Welder for our shop in Zion. We are looking for dependable fabricators who can read shop drawings, perform structural welding, and operate fabrication equipment safely and efficiently. If you have hands-on experience in structural steel fabrication and take pride in producing quality work, we want to hear from you. Immediate opening. Responsibilities Fabricate structural steel components from detailed shop drawings Perform structural welding (MIG, Stick - specify if needed) Measure and verify dimensions accurately using tape measure and layout tools Maintain required weld size, type, and quality standards Operate fabrication equipment including: Welders Band saws Shear and punch Grinders Operate overhead cranes and skid steer safely Follow all shop safety procedures

Qualifications Required:

18 years of age or older Ability to pass a welder qualification test Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings Strong tape measure and basic math skills Physically able to lift materials and stand for extended periods Preferred (Optional): 1+ years of structural steel fabrication experience Experience operating overhead cranes Experience in a steel fabrication shop environment Pay & Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Overtime opportunities Stable, full-time work Work Location In-person at our fabrication shop in Zion, IL.
