In this role, you will be responsible for welding and assembling pipe systems according to detailed blueprints and technical specifications. Your expertise will ensure the integrity, safety, and precision of piping installations across various projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction sites, utilizing advanced welding techniques and mechanical knowledge to deliver top-quality results. Duties Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and ASME codes & standards to accurately guide pipe fabrication and installation. Perform welding operations using various techniques including Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW or MIG), Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), and Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding to join metal materials securely. Measure and mark pipe materials with calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise cuts and fittings. Use power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment for cutting, grinding, threading, soldering, and fabricating pipe components. Assemble piping systems on construction sites or in fabrication shops while adhering strictly to safety protocols and quality standards. Interpret technical drawings and blueprints for proper pipe threading, fitting placement, and assembly procedures. Maintain a clean work environment by following safety guidelines, inspecting equipment regularly, and ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations. Qualifications Proven experience in construction site welding with a strong understanding of metal fabrication processes. Proficiency in multiple welding techniques including
SMAW, GMAW
(MIG), FCAW, TIG welding, and stick welding. Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical schematics with confidence. Skilled in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, shop math calculations, and other measuring tools. Mechanical knowledge of pipe threading, plasma cutting, machining, soldering, assembly processes, and metal materials used in fabrication projects. Familiarity with ASME codes & standards related to piping systems; knowledge of safety protocols is essential. Experience working with power tools, hand tools, sheet metal fabrication equipment, and welding machines in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills; ability to interpret technical drawings accurately. Prior experience in fabrication shop environments or on construction sites is highly preferred.
