Production floor / welding and fabrication environment Build a Welding Career with Hands-On Training, Strong Benefits, and a Safety-Focused Team A confidential manufacturing employer is seeking dependable, quality-focused Welders to support the production of carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum products, and subassemblies. Welders play a critical role in the manufacturing process and are expected to produce high-quality work while meeting production standards. This role may involve MIG welding, TIG welding, reading engineering prints, working with weld symbols, and following product specifications. Qualification weld tests are required, and certification tests may be required depending on the product line. Candidates who do not pass the initial weld test may have the opportunity to qualify by attending an in-house weld school and demonstrating the ability to pass the weld test after training. Position Overview Welders perform a variety of tasks that may vary by department and location. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on fabrication work, takes pride in craftsmanship, and can work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Welder will support performance in Safety, Quality, and Delivery while producing work that meets quality standards and production expectations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Duties may vary by department, location, and product line.
Examples of responsibilities include:
Owning and helping improve performance in Safety, Quality, and Delivery Performing carbon steel, aluminum, and/or stainless steel MIG and/or TIG welding at a level that meets quality standards Reading engineering prints, weld symbols, and specifications Following work instructions and product requirements Performing basic operator preventative maintenance on welding-related equipment Maneuvering in tight and small spaces Working at heights of approximately 15 to 20 feet Performing additional work assigned by a supervisor or team leader Assisting in different departments as needed Wearing approved personal protective equipment, including safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses with side shields, respirators, hearing protection, and other required PPE Completing assigned duties in accordance with safety policies and practices Supporting individual safety, coworker safety, and the safe use of workplace equipment Tools and Equipment Depending on department, location, and product line, Welders may work with tools and equipment such as: Oxy/acetylene torch Engineering prints Work instructions Handheld tools Tape measure Hoist Crane MIG welder, including GMAW and pulse transfer TIG welder, including GTAW Possible limited stick welder, including SMAW Plasma cutter and gouging equipment Grinder and sander Respirator ADF or PAPR hood Training is provided to help employees become comfortable and confident with required tools, equipment, and processes.
Qualifications Qualified candidates must have:
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen Ability to pass weld tests associated with the product line before welding in production Ability to pass a respirator fit test Basic reading, writing, math, and verbal communication skills Ability to follow and understand engineering prints, specifications, and instructions Experience, Training, and Skills Experience and education are a plus, but they are not required. The employer provides the necessary training for welding positions. After receiving an offer, new hires will complete orientation and several days of training to prepare for work on the production floor.

While performing the duties of this job, employees may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. Employees may occasionally be exposed to extreme job-site conditions, including very loud noise, high temperatures, and potentially outside elements. Due to the work environment, all employees on the production floor must wear required personal protective equipment. Physical Demands Employees in this position are regularly required to stand, walk, climb, sit, bend, kneel, stoop, handle materials, and operate controls for the length of the entire shift. Some employees may work in small spaces throughout the shift and frequently lift and/or carry objects up to 50 pounds.
