RESPONSIBILITIESOperate hand-welding, flame-cutting, hand-soldering, or brazing machinery to weld metalPreheat workpieces before weldingFill holes, indentations, or seamsInspect products for quality and conformance to specificationsRead and interpret blueprints, specifications, work orders, etc.

Measure and calculate dimensionsIgnite torches or start power suppliesHammer out bulgesOversee the welding process to prevent overheating and adjust settingsMaintain the safety and functionality of equipment and machineryTrain new hiresComply with health and safety regulations and always wear protective gearMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
