Job Description

A robot welder (or robotic welding technician) sets up, programs, and operates automated welding machines to fabricate metal components. They ensure production lines run efficiently, inspect parts for quality, and perform regular equipment maintenance to minimize downtime and maximize weld consistency.
Core Responsibilities Programming & Setup:
Input welding parameters, select correct programs, and use teach pendants to guide the robotic arm along precise weld paths.
Quality Assurance:
Interpret blueprints and technical drawings, inspect finished welds, and make real-time adjustments to ensure parts meet precise industry standards.
Equipment Maintenance:
Clean fixtures, perform preventative maintenance on robotic equipment, and replace welding consumables (like wire or tips).
Troubleshooting:
Diagnose system malfunctions, troubleshoot programming errors, and fix alignment issues.
Material Handling:
Load and unload raw materials and finished weldments using cranes or hoists.
Typical Requirements Education:
High school diploma or GED.
Skills:
Knowledge of welding processes (like MIG and TIG), understanding of weld symbols, blueprint reading, and basic computer skills.
Physical & Environment:
Comfort standing for long periods in industrial environments, wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and lifting heavy materials.
Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
