Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Welder to join our fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing precise welding operations on dump bodies, ensuring all work meets rigorous safety standards and quality specifications. Your expertise will help us deliver durable, high-quality dump bodies that meet ours and our clients' expectations. Duties Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols. Measure and mark materials accurately using tape measures, squares and other measuring tools. Set up and operate MIG welding equipment. Select appropriate wire, gas, voltage, amperage, and machine settings. Prepare metal by cutting, bending, grinding, cleaning, and fitting components. Position, align, clamp, and tack-weld parts before completing final welds. Perform fillet, butt, groove, and other welds in various positions. Inspect welds for proper penetration, appearance, size, and defects. Grind, clean, and finish welds to meet specifications. Identify and repair weld defects such as porosity, undercut, cracking, and lack of fusion. Operate fabrication equipment such as saws, grinders, drills, presses, shears, and plasma cutters. Maintain welding machines, tools, consumables, and work areas. Follow welding procedures, drawings, specifications, and quality-control requirements. Use appropriate PPE and follow OSHA and company safety procedures. Safely handle, position, and move metal and fabricated components. Meet Production schedules while maintaining required quality standards. Communicate with supervisors and other shop personnel regarding job requirements and fabrication issues. Requirements Previous experience with MIG welding is preferred. Ability to read and understand blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols. Ability to read a tape measure and accurately take measurements. Ability to set up and adjust MIG welding machines, including voltage, wire speed, and gas flow. Knowledge of proper welding techniques, fit-up, and joint preparation. Ability to weld various thicknesses of metal, depending on shop requirements. Basic knowledge of fabrication tools and equipment, including grinders, saws, drills, shears, and plasma cutters. Ability to use hand tools and measuring equipment safely and accurately. Ability to lift, move, and position materials safely. Ability to climb ladders and perform work at various heights. Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to maintain consistent weld quality and production standards. Willingness to follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements. Reliable attendance and ability to work effectively as part of a team. Ability to work in a fast-paced fabrication environment and meet production deadlines.

Pay:

$15.00 - $17.00 per hour
