POSITION SUMMARY

The Welder will be responsible for reading blueprints, tacking materials, and assisting other welders/fabricators to ensure on-time and high-quality items are fabricated to multiple end users.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential functions include but are not limited to the following: Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job. Monitors the welding, burning, and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage. Prepares, assembles, and tacks weld parts and surfaces to be welded. Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area. Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered. Quality control to meet customer and internal standards. Ability to work in a safe manner consistent with OSHA Standards. Ability to work efficiently. Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

High School diploma or GED required A minimum of 0-1 years of relative experience required Experienced with MIG welding Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and other shop drawing required Computer literacy and ability to read a tape measure Strong math skills and mechanical aptitude Ability to meet all deadlines even with changing priorities Continuous improvement and quality focus Previous use of manual and power hand tools required Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
