The position produces conforming weld and pipe finishes while completing required documentation and following approved welding, safety, and quality procedures. Essential duties and responsibilities Fit and weld side pocket gas lift mandrels in accordance with approved drawings, manufacturing orders, and welding procedures. Perform sleeve and swage assembly. Fit mandrel components and verify proper alignment and preparation before welding. Grind outside diameter welds on side pocket mandrels to a smooth finish. Grind inside diameter welds on side pocket mandrels to a smooth finish. Inspect completed fitting, welding, and grinding work for workmanship and conformance to applicable requirements. Complete required production and quality paperwork accurately and promptly. Maintain the work area, tools, and equipment in a clean and serviceable condition. Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Manager or Shop Supervisor. Qualifications and requirements Minimum of one year of manufacturing, welding, fitting, or related on the job experience, unless otherwise approved by management. Welding and fitting experience with oilfield equipment is preferred. General knowledge of basic oilfield manufacturing processes. Ability to read and follow drawings, manufacturing orders, work instructions, and approved welding procedures. Ability to use measuring tools and recognize workmanship or dimensional concerns. Ability to work safely, communicate clearly, and maintain attention to detail. Quality and safety responsibilities Follow applicable welding procedures, work instructions, inspection requirements, and QMS policies and procedures. Ensure required paperwork is complete, accurate, and traceable to the applicable job or manufacturing order. Identify and report nonconforming conditions, damaged equipment, hazards, near misses, or process concerns to supervision. Use tools and equipment only as trained and authorized and wear required personal protective equipment. Abide by all company policies and support a safe, quality focused workplace. Shift and employment information Full time positions may be assigned to day or night shift. Day shift is 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Night shift is 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday. The standard schedule consists of 10 hour shifts. Compensation is per hour, based on qualifications and experience. Work environment Work is performed in a fabrication and manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical equipment, powered tools, welding and grinding operations, airborne particles, industrial vehicles, and varying noise levels. Required personal protective equipment must be worn, including hearing protection in designated areas.
