We are seeking experienced Structural Welders to join our client's shipyard team in Franklin, LA. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled welder who takes pride in quality workmanship and wants to contribute to the construction of vessels used by military and emergency-response organizations. Our client is a leading designer and builder of custom vessels serving military and first-responder customers around the world. Their shipyard specializes in the construction of high-quality welded aluminum vessels, including patrol boats, fire-rescue vessels, and other specialized marine craft.
Responsibilities:
Perform structural welding on aluminum marine vessels and components. Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, drawings, and measurements. Perform welding using appropriate processes and techniques to meet production and quality requirements. Fit, align, and weld structural components according to specifications. Inspect completed welds for quality, accuracy, and structural integrity. Work with other welders, fitters, and shipyard personnel to meet production schedules. Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all shipyard safety procedures. Use welding equipment, hand tools, power tools, and related equipment safely and effectively. Follow established quality-control procedures and production standards.
Qualifications:
Previous structural welding experience required. Shipyard, marine, fabrication, or heavy industrial welding experience preferred. Ability to read and understand blueprints and welding symbols. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work safely in a fast-paced production environment. Ability to work extended shifts and a 7-day work schedule. Must be dependable, punctual, and willing to work as part of a team.
Compensation & Schedule:
$30-$32 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. 12-hour shifts 7 days per week Full-time, long-term opportunity. This is an opportunity to work on custom-built vessels with real-world applications, including vessels supporting military, law-enforcement, and fire-rescue operations. Our client's facility has produced patrol vessels for U.S. and foreign militaries as well as fireboats and other specialized vessels.
Pay:
