The MIG Welder is responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding and weld finishing operations to manufacture product to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Proficient in assigned welding techniques. Interpret mechanical drawings, including weld requirement symbology. Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for various steel alloys, aluminum, and some exotic materials. Working knowledge of fixturing and weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.). Use of conventional and precision measuring instruments. Process inspection, certification, and documentation. Maintain welding equipment. Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools. Operate heavy machinery, including but not limited to Band saw, Forklift and Press Brake
QUALIFICATIONS
: Successful completion of an internal welding test. Understand and apply MIG welding techniques. Operate welding equipment with skill. Prioritize and plan work activity. Use time efficiently. Detail oriented. Able to work well with minimal supervision.
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or GED. Welding certification from a certified Technical, Trade or Vocational school. 1 year experience in MIG welding.
Safety:
This is a safety sensitive position and is subject to random drug testing. Post job offer drug screening and a physical are required prior to being placed into active service. Work environment requires exposure to a typical offshore site where use of personal protective equipment is mandatory. Physical labor is required. Must be able to lift 50lbs unassisted. Must be able to withstand prolonged time standing. Employees may be subject to repetitive motions.
