What You\'ll Do As a Band Weld Operator, you\'ll be part of ourEast Longmeadow team located in East Longmeadow MA. You\'ll get to:

General Responsibilities:

Perform various duties to set up, operate andmaintain equipment to automatic band cutter automatic welders, grind andanneal a variety of sizes and types if Bi-Metal, Carbide, Carbon andother types of bands saw blade material of various widths, thicknesses,and tooth configurations to produce finished band saw blades; followingstandard, established methods, practices and procedures.

Responsibilities:

Receive coil stock and cut to proper size based on cuttags for welding on multiply weld lines. Adjust welding machine clampsfor blade width, thickness and tooth spacing. Set time and temperaturecontrols as required, clamp ends of blade in machine, position flashguard and actuate cycle. After welding, and preliminary anneal dependingon size and type of blade, transfer welded blades to grinder. Performperiodic visual checks for proper weld, alignment and tooth spacing atweld. Use grinding wheel and/or belt grinder to remove welding flashfrom both sides and back of welded blade. Check back of blade asrequired with dial indicator. Move blade to gullet grinder and grindflash from gullet and shape welded gullet to match original shape.

Maintain welder jaws clean and free from flash. Periodically reversejaws or remove and replace as required. Dress abrasive wheel and removeand replace as necessary. Complete required documentation. Performregularly scheduled daily, weekly and monthly maintenance of allmachines and equipment. Disassemble, clean, lubricate and repair asrequired. Post required information to maintenance log sheet. Someoperators calibrate, adjust or repair gauges and precision measuringinstruments used on the job. Observe and obey all safety rules,regulations and practices and employ all safety equipment and devices.

Perform other similar or related duties as required or directed. (thisposition requires you to run a wide width band weld line)
