Welder/Fitter#26-00308 Auburn Hills, MI
All On-site Job Description SUMMARY :
Lays out, fits, and welds fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble structural forms such as machinery frames and building and weld parts by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Knowledge of and ability to operate MIG, TIG, and Stick welders. Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding. Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together. Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding. Sets up equipment and welds parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, or gas welding equipment. Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts. Positions and clamps workpieces together or assembles them in jig or fixture. Conduct preventative maintenance on weld equipment. Keep work areas clean, maintain 5S and safety. Other duties and projects may be assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education diploma (GED); or a minimum of three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in Blue Print Reading; MIG Welding. Ability to use/drive overhead cranes, Hi-lo, Pallet Jack and other related equipment required to perform the job function. Knowledge of safety precautions in the Manufacturing environment. U.S. Driver's License
