Job Description

Fabricator/ Welder Reports To Production Supervisor Job Summary The TIG Welder, under the direction of the Production Supervisor, will be responsible to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and Health and Safety guidelines. This position will ensure high standards of workmanship, quality, efficiencies and customer needs. Competencies Adaptability Attention to Detail Commitment to Health and Safety Organization Read drawings and follow instructions at various levels of detail Resourceful Teamwork/Cooperation Multitasking Time Management/Ability to prioritize Job Duties Ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency Majority of work TIG welding, with some MIG welding depending on the project Read Blue Prints / Drawings Examine for defects and measure work pieces to ensure conformance with specifications, mark, record, and report defective products Ensure outputs meet production schedules, safety and quality standards, as well as customer needs Ensure proper use of required personal protective equipment at all times Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on all equipment / tools Maintain a clean working area free from dirt and debris between tasks and at end of day Communicate with supervisor, engineers, production control, quality, and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve any issues Job Requirements Secondary School Diploma and Welding diploma (Certificate) and or equivalent experience will be an asset Minimum 3 years TIG experience; preferably in custom fabrication welding Previous experience as a MIG Welder considered an asset Strong working knowledge of various metal finishing tools and methods Must have the ability and experience working with different types and functions of metal (Aluminum, mild steel, stainless steel, etc.) Must have initiative to inspect own work for quality compliance Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing Ability to lift heavy objects, walk, and stand for long periods of time Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands Valid Driver's License Work Conditions Fast paced environment with high job variety Use of required personal protective equipment Operation and use of necessary tools, machinery, or equipment Extended periods of standing, and other physically demanding conditions Must be able to lift up to 50lbs Full time Monday - Friday 8 hour shifts up to 48 hours/week
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
