Position summary: Primarily responsible for fabricating and assembling metal products as specified by work orders, diagrams and templates, using hand tools, power tools, and metalworking machinery. Lays out, positions, aligns and fits together fabricated part of structural metal products according to blueprint and layout specifications.

- Must produce fabricated metal components or assemblies within allowable timeframe as determined by project management personnel
- Must adhere to all safety standards as outlined in company Safety Policy
- Must adhere to all quality standards as outlined in company QAQC Manual
- High school graduate or equivalent combination or experience, education and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities outlined below Position responsibilities:
- Read and interpret fabrication detail drawings, blueprints, sketches or specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabrication and assembly of structural steel members. Plan and develop layout as outlined on blueprints and templates
- Lay out and mark dimensions and reference lines on material; apply knowledge of shop mathematics and layout techniques. Detail location and sequence of cutting, drilling, bending, rolling, punching or welding operations. Marks signage and symbols onto work piece.
- Rig and move parts into position; manually or by using mechanical hoists or cranes.
- Set up and operate fabricating machines
- Weld metal components using wire feed welding machine
- Perform other related duties as assigned; including but not limited to general labor, ongoing maintenance, and other miscellaneous tasks as needed by department Essential skills and experience :
- Demonstrated ability to weld and pass a welding test as administered by fabrication supervisory personnel

Position requires that employee be able to work up to twelve hour shifts, four to five consecutive days a week.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high, with hearing protection provided and available to the employee. Work environment may be dirty, dusty, with the risk of airborne particles, with eye protection required at all times. Heavy equipment operating in or near work area that employee will continuously need to be aware of, and will need to be able to communicate with other employees for the purpose of hazard recognition, problem solving, or other purposes. Employee may be working in close proximity to other workers, machines, and production activities.
