To help maintain this high-performing culture and drive our future growth, we are seeking a dynamic and skilled Welding/Fabricator Intern that is detail-oriented and seeking to leverage hands-on technical skills, blueprint literacy, and structural code knowledge to drive production Quality, Safety, and Profitability. Eager to apply a strong academic foundation, precise fabrication capabilities, and a firm understanding of AISC and AWS standards to support shop floor operations and maximize production efficiency. A dedicated team player ready to collaborate with cross-functional manufacturing teams to minimize material waste, deliver accurate fit-ups, and support high-quality structural steel fabrication.
Hands-on Welding:
Set up, calibrated, and operated welding equipment to join structural components, ensuring proper penetration and bead appearance across various positions and materials.
Metal Fabrication & Fit-up:
Utilined shop tools—including torches, grinders, band saws, and benders—to cut, shape, and prep metal components according to blueprint specifications.
Blueprint Reading & Symbol Interpretation:
Interpreted complex structural blueprints, detail drawings, and standard welding symbols to accurately plan material cuts, layout, and assembly sequences.
Code & Standards Application:
Applied a foundational understanding of structural fabrication codes—such as AWS D1.1 and AISC guidelines—to verify that joint preparation and fit-ups meet strict industry standards.
Procedure Development:
Assisted in developing, writing, and maintaining corporate Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) involving complex alloys and critical joints. Highlight of some of our
