Job Description

Job Title:
Welder Job Description This role focuses on structural and custom welding, combining hands-on fabrication, assembly, and occasional paint preparation to support the production of large crane structures. You will follow engineering drawings and approved procedures to produce high-quality welds while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and precision. Responsibilities Interpret and follow instructions and engineering drawings to perform structural and custom welding. Weld parts using approved welding procedures to meet quality and safety standards. Support the setup of welding equipment, work layouts, and weld preparations to ensure efficient workflow. Position, align, and clamp components together prior to welding to maintain accuracy and fit. Perform related fabrication tasks such as thermal cutting, grinding, and part preparation. Verify conformance of finished workpieces to first article inspection requirements with limited supervision. Contribute to crane assembly activities, including fitting, fabrication, and basic assembly work in addition to welding. Assist with non-welding tasks such as fabrication, assembly, and paint preparation, with approximately 40% of time spent welding. Perform all operations with the highest regard for personal safety and the safety of others, consistently using required PPE. Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all facility safety and operational procedures. Essential Skills Minimum of 3 years of fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment or completion of a technical school program. Minimum of 3 years of MIG welding experience in a structural or manufacturing setting. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions. Proficiency in structural welding and custom welding using MIG processes. Experience with fabrication tasks such as fitting, cutting, grinding, and assembly. Capability and willingness to perform both welding and assembly work, including crane assembly and paint preparation. Strong focus on safety, including proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to safety procedures. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Ability to work with limited supervision while maintaining high quality standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Glenwood, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
