OPPORTUNITY
TC/American Manufacturing is looking for a Welder I to work in our plant in Glenwood, MN. This is a rare opportunity to join a company with an amazing history. This is not your average welding position. As a welder for TC/American, you will play an integral role in manufacturing cranes and components for the leaders in the Aviation, Aerospace, Defense, Automotive, and Material Handling industries. •Potential Signing Bonus•SUMMARY Welds metal components together with a variety of gas welding equipment to fabricate or repair products such as machine parts, plant equipment, small and large structural weldments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following: Welds per instructions and/or engineering drawings Welds parts using approved welding procedures Supports setup of equipment, layout, and weld preparations Positions and clamps together components prior to welding Performs related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to first article inspection with limited supervision Performs all operations with the highest regard to personal safety and the safety of others, and at a level of performance acceptable to the supervisor Responsible for housekeeping in the general area As apparent or assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, written instructions, manuals, safety rules, etc. Candidates with additional shop skills who can work in other areas of the shop are preferred. Proficiency in the use of forklifts, cranes, slings, chains, hooks and other appropriate devices or equipment is preferred. Required to handle the products safely and efficiently, training will be provided. EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Some training will be provided.
AUTHORITY
The person performing this job has the authority to stop the process to initiate corrective action if the process and/or equipment is not working properly.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, crouch, and walk. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job there is required Personal Protective Equipment, which is provided. The employee may occasionally be required to perform work in an elevated work area. The noise level in the work environment requires hearing protection, which is provided.' '
