Job Description

Job Title:
Welder Job Description This role focuses on fabricating daily production and custom metal orders using MIG welding, with opportunities to use TIG welding as well. You will set up and operate welding equipment and related machinery, work from blueprints, and contribute to the production of drum handling, garage storage and workshop, and material handling equipment. You will play a key role in maintaining high quality standards, meeting productivity goals, and supporting a culture of safety and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Fabricate daily production and custom metal orders according to specifications and quality standards. Perform MIG welding on metal components, with the ability to perform TIG welding as a plus. Set up, adjust, and operate welding equipment and related machinery safely and efficiently. Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly. Position and secure materials using jigs, fixtures, and measuring tools to achieve precise dimensions and alignment. Maintain productivity targets, including producing approximately three cabinets per hour. Follow written work instructions, standard operating procedures, and safety guidelines at all times. Support light machine maintenance as needed to keep equipment in proper working condition. Contribute to the production of drum handling, garage storage and workshop, and material handling equipment. Maintain a clean and organized work area in line with 5S and continuous improvement practices. Essential Skills At least 1 year of MIG welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. Proficiency in MIG welding techniques with a strong focus on weld quality and consistency. Metalworking knowledge, including basic fabrication processes and material handling. Ability to read and interpret blueprints with at least 6 months of blueprint reading experience. Capability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to follow work instructions, safety procedures, and production standards. Dependability and the ability to meet established productivity targets. Additional Skills & Qualifications TIG welding experience or exposure is a plus. Certificate or welding diploma from a two-year university or technical program is highly desirable. Experience in fabrication or manufacturing environments. Familiarity with using jigs, fixtures, and measuring tools for precise fabrication. Comfort working within a 5S and continuous improvement-focused environment. Willingness to assist with light machine maintenance as needed. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lake City, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
