Welder Job Description Custom Steelcraft is a Steel Fabrication company located in Lakeville, MN. We are currently seeking a Welder to join our dynamic team.
Job Description:
This is a production-based role. A successful candidate will be responsible for applying general welding practices to fabricate or repair components using production welding equipment. Our work may include welding light gauge material to produce jambs and panels, as well as heavy structural steel to produce beams, columns, mezzanines, stairways, and railings. You will be responsible for reading and interpreting shop drawings or blueprints to ensure that correct dimensions and materials are used for the weldment, and it meets the specified tolerances. You will also be responsible for verifying that correct quantities are produced, and production paperwork is completed according to established policy and procedures. Previous experience in a warehouse production environment preferred.
Skills and Qualifications:
Experience with MIG welding in a production environment Certified or certifiable to
ANS D1.1
Able to set end fixture parts to maximize labor efficiencies Well versed in reading sketches and blueprints Skillful in measuring, dimensioning, and cutting materials to specifications Quick troubleshooting skills and problem-solving abilities Ability to focus and complete tasks with interruptions/distractions Capable of working independently with minimal supervision Excellent mechanical aptitude, must be comfortable using hand tools Ability to communicate effectively (speaking, writing, active listening and taking instruction) Positive can-do attitude, willing to help others when needed
Work Environment:
Industrial warehouse with temperature fluctuation based upon season Must be able to lift, push, bend, pull 100 pounds regularly Required hours Monday through Thursday 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM (not flexible) (No Weekends) (1st Shift) Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time (up to 10 hours) Welding hood and steel toe boots are required for this role
