Welder Job Description Join a fast-paced production environment where you will be engaged in Pulse (MIG) welding on mild steel using weld fixtures and symbols to complete units efficiently. Welders average between 2,000-2,500 welds per day, requiring consistent and high-quality cosmetic welding. You will be responsible for loading metal onto the fixture, using symbols to weld specific parts of the unit, and then passing it along to the next welder for further completion. Productivity is measured collectively by the weld cell rather than individually. Responsibilities Execute Pulse (MIG) welding on mild steel using weld fixtures and symbols. Achieve a daily average of 2,000-2,500 welds with consistent cosmetic quality. Load and unload metal on fixtures, utilizing symbols for welding specific unit parts. Collaborate with fellow welders to ensure seamless production flow. Adhere to safety protocols by wearing a weld helmet, gloves, jacket, steel toe boots, and ear plugs. Essential Skills Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Pulse welding techniques. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day. Competency in reading and interpreting weld symbols. Good memorization skills for efficient workflow. Capability to work in a hot, physical environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in production welding and fabrication. Understanding of blueprint reading. Steady and consistent welding practice. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a manufacturing facility that is not air-conditioned, presenting hot conditions. Engage in physical activities such as bending, twisting, and lifting throughout your shift. Maintain a reliable attendance record to ensure continued employment. Work hours are from 7:30pm to 6am, Monday through Thursday. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Owatonna, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.75 - $26.00/hr.
