Job Description
NOW HIRING
We are looking for a Welder 2 (more MIG experience) or Welder 3 (expert) to join our team. A Welder 2 or 3 is responsible for performing MIG welding, layout, tacking, fabrication and building functions in the manufacture of various products in accordance with product specifications. Successful completion of internal welding test is mandatory. Millerbernd Manufacturing Company is an AWS (American Welding Society) Sustaining Company Member.Job Title:

Weekend shift: Friday- Sunday 5am

Shift Differential :
Weekend shift- $2.50/hour As a Welder 2 , you will: Perform these GMAW welds: butt
- V•single bevel and fillet welds on carbon steel Produce welds that pass visual inspection Can perform necessary repairs that pass adhere to MMC Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and CWI inspection requirements Demonstrates the ability to weld the above weld joints with either .
- select appropriate wire and shielding gas and weld within WPS weld parameters Proficient in print reading and understands weld symbols and welding gauges Can perform welds using following wire
- solid
- flux core and metal core as needed.
AWS GMAW
certified Welders employed with Millerbernd will have the opportunity to complete all weld certification requirements including AWS certification within 14 days of employment- up to 3 attempts Welders employed with Millerbernd Circular Products, Sauk Rapids are required to obtain and maintain ASME certification requirements Ensure use of safe work procedures and wear all required PPE Perform work at the appropriate pace to maintain quality and productivity requirements As a Welder 3 you will: Safety Familiar with and complies with all safety requirements and protocols for working in a hazardous environment Acts as a resident expert within the team on safety; typically, this role would not incur any safety violations or incidents Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly Quality Visually inspects completed welds to determine acceptance to given specifications Achieves a UT (ultrasonic testing) pass rate of 85% (calculated over a 6-month period from total number of structures welded) Achieves less than 10% visual testing failures (calculated over a 6-month period from total number of structures welded) No more than 0.
FCAW, GMAW, GTAW, SAW, PAW, SMAW
Prefer graduation from an accredited trade school for welding Expert knowledge in interpreting blueprints, mechanical drawings, and weld symbols Expert knowledge of weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.) Expert Knowledge of welding properties of a variety of metals Ability to perform basic shop math functions Ability to set up work and determine operation sequence Ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues Ability to work in a team environment with a diverse group of people Ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions Ability to read and understand required internal manufacturing paperwork Able to work under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or procedures Physical Demands (Production Roles): This position requires the individual to wear and work in company-provided personal protective equipment (PPE). This position requires that the individual can lift a minimum of 50lbs. And, if applicable, can maneuver large, cumbersome equipment with the use of an overhead crane and/or forklift. Must be able to work in, on, or around equipment and machinery. The employee may need to perform work with the use of ladders.
