Customer Focus, Passion for Performance, and Right People - Best Teams. Position Summary We are seeking a 2nd shift Welder. The Welder is responsible for joining and fabricating metal components using MIG and TIG welding processes to create high-quality customer products in a manufacturing environment. This role includes reading blueprints, setting up and operating welding equipment, fitting and assembling parts, inspecting finished welds, and ensuring products meet quality and safety standards. Welders work with a variety of materials and welding techniques while supporting production goals, maintaining accuracy, and following Lake Air's safety and quality procedures. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and ruler Observe tests on welded surfaces, such as hydrostatic, x-ray, and dimension tolerance Develops templates or tooling and other work aids to hold and align parts. Determines required equipment and welding methods, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques. Examining finished products and spare parts and comparing them with samples to check whether the specifications are met. Inspects grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using measuring instruments welding metal, such as fusing metal segments, laser hand welding, using gas tungsten arc, metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, and other types of welding arcs Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent 1+ years of experience in TIG, MIG, and Tack-weld (hand laser welding preferred) Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to the mission Ability to weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions. Lift objects up to 50 pounds throughout the day Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) Reading blueprints and performing all necessary measurements
