ABOUT THE POSITION
Under the direction and supervision of the Department Production Manager and in cooperation with the Production Supervisor and Production Lead, weld metal components with welding equipment to fit and join, fabricate, and/or repair heavy and large mechanical products per specifications and in accordance with the production schedule.
PAY RANGE
$27.00 - $31.00 commensurate with experience

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform intermediate to advanced welding operations using MIG, TIG, stick, or other welding techniques. Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding procedures to determine the appropriate welding process and materials. Prepare materials for welding, including cutting, grinding, and fitting. Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions. Troubleshoot and correct welding defects such as porosity, cracks, or warping. Operate and maintain welding tools, equipment, and machinery. Adhere to workplace safety regulations and use appropriate PPE. Train or mentor less experienced welders as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Completed welding degree from a vocational or technical school. Typically, more than 1 year of welding experience and needs little oversight or training. Additional experience will be considered in lieu of a welding degree.
JOB SKILLS
Proficiency in various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, stick welding). Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications. Strong understanding of welding safety practices. Experience with welding inspections and quality assurance. Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand, kneel, or bend for extended periods. Comfortable working in hot, noisy, or physically demanding environments. Good visual acuity to distinguish details in the materials and welds. Ability to perform tasks in uncomfortable positions, including lying, crouching, or in awkward spaces.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Manufacturing, construction, or repair facility. Exposure to welding fumes, heat, and noise, with proper PPE provided.
