Job Description
Job Title:
Welder Job Description As a Welder, you will be responsible for repairing non-conforming parts or components using MIG, TIG, or spot welding, grinding, or other approved repair methods. You will also operate spot welding equipment to join or repair sheet metal or steel components, inspect parts before and after repair to ensure compliance with engineering and customer specifications, and tag and properly identify repaired parts according to company procedures. Responsibilities Repair non-conforming parts or components using MIG, TIG, or spot welding, grinding, or other approved repair methods. Operate spot welding equipment to join or repair sheet metal or steel components. Inspect parts prior to and after repair to ensure compliance with engineering and customer specifications. Tag and properly identify repaired parts according to company procedures. Move repaired parts to appropriate locations within the facility for further processing or inspection. Set up, adjust, and perform basic calibration checks on welding equipment. Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition. Follow established welding procedures, work instructions, and safety guidelines. Track repair activities using Plexus (ERP system) as required. Maintain organization and housekeeping within the work area. Communicate prior concerns or quality issues to supervisors or quality personnel. Support production flow by prioritizing repair work as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills Proficiency in MIG welding. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Additional Skills & Qualifications Certification in MIG and/or TIG welding preferred. Experience with spot welding equipment preferred. Ability to read and follow work instructions, repair procedures, and engineering specifications. Basic understanding of metal finishing and grinding techniques. The environment is well-organized and focused on maintaining high safety standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bridgeton, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.75 - $18.75/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
