Job Description
Lectro Engineering is looking for an experienced Welder / Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. We build custom industrial equipment, so this position requires someone who can do more than repetitive production welding. The ideal candidate can read fabrication drawings, measure accurately, fit components, fabricate assemblies, and weld parts to specification with minimal supervision. Responsibilities Read and understand fabrication drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols Fit, tack, and weld steel components and fabricated assemblies Measure and lay out parts using tape measures, squares, calipers, and other measuring tools Fabricate frames, brackets, guards, supports, and other machine components Properly position and square assemblies before welding MIG weld a variety of steel components Grind and finish welds as required Check completed work for dimensions, squareness, and overall quality Use saws, grinders, drills, and other fabrication equipment Identify and correct fabrication or fit-up problems Maintain an organized and safe work area Work with machining, assembly, and engineering departments when needed Qualifications Preferred candidates will have: Previous welding and fabrication experience Ability to read and understand blueprints and fabrication drawings Strong MIG welding skills Experience fitting and fabricating assemblies from drawings Ability to accurately use measuring tools Understanding of weld symbols Good mechanical aptitude Ability to work independently Strong attention to detail Ability to troubleshoot fit-up and fabrication issues TIG welding experience is a plus but not required if the applicant has strong fabrication and MIG welding experience. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who can be given a print and materials and take the job from fabrication through a completed welded assembly . This is a good position for someone who takes pride in their work, understands that dimensions and fit-up matter, and wants to work on a variety of custom equipment rather than welding the same part every day.
