Job Description

This position requires a self-motivated, competent individual with a high energy level who is able to work alone or with others in a field environment. Job duties are below. Primary Purpose:
Lay out, fit and weld fabricated, cast, and forge components to assemble structural forms, such as buildings.
Typical Duties:
Select equipment and plan lay out, assembly, and welding, applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining weld shrinkage, and welding techniques Lay out, position, align and fit components together Bolt, clamps, and tack-weld parts to secure in position for welding Set up equipment and weld parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, or gas welding equipment May repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts, using cutting torch, straightening press, and hand tools Ability to read drawings and blueprints Other tasks appointed by the
Supervisor Physical Requirements:
Work easily and skillfully with hands Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs Climb and maintain balance on high ladders, scaffolds, and other elevated work platforms Stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, or crawl for extended periods of time T he above description covers the principal duties and responsibilities of the job.
