Part-Time Welder/Fabricator

Job Summary The Welder position will perform diversified hand welding on a wide variety of complex assemblies and structures using welding equipment to fabricate or repair parts in fixtures and/or jigs. This position is a safety sensitive role that requires compliance with the company's drug and alcohol policy and adherence to all safety regulations and procedures. Key Responsibilities Reads and interprets blueprints and machine drawings to determine specific welding requirements. Welds metal components together using either MIG welding, or any combination of arc welding processes. Welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions. Examines welding for bead size and other specifications. Repairs broken or cracked parts and fills holes. Positions and clamps workpieces together or assemble them in jigs or fixtures. Tacks assemblies together, cleans or de-greases parts. Performs related tasks such as grinding and thermal cutting. Chips off excess weld, slag, and spatter. Performs routine maintenance and repair on all equipment used in welding. Be able to move parts in and move finished product out of the welding area. Perform self-inspection of finished parts. All other duties assigned. Knowledge and Skills Must have the ability to lift upwards of 75 pounds. Must be willing to work hours as required. Completion of Company testing program. Strong attention to detail, precision, and control. Emotional Intelligence, collaboration and communication skills. Quick thinker and ability to prioritize safety first. Qualifications Minimum (3) three years welding experience. Must pass in-house welding test. Must have a valid driver's license. Ability to obtain forklift certification as required.
