Fabricator Location:
Black Mountain, NC Shift:
1st Shift (6:00 AM 2:30 PM, MondayFriday)
Pay:
$21 $28/hr | DOE Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Laser Welder / Fabricator to join our team in Black Mountain, NC. This role focuses on precision laser welding and fabrication of thin-gauge stainless steel used in specialized laboratory refrigeration and climate-control systems. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in precision, clean welds, and advanced welding technology in a low-volume, high-detail manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Perform laser welding on thin-gauge stainless steel (2216 gauge) with high precision and minimal distortion Set up and operate laser welding equipment, adjusting parameters to meet material and quality requirements Cut, fit, and fabricate stainless steel components to exact specifications Assist with light fabrication tasks, including fitting, alignment, and assembly Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions Inspect welds and finished parts to ensure quality, consistency, and dimensional accuracy Use measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, rulers) to verify tolerances Perform basic equipment maintenance and report any issues or inconsistencies Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Support additional production tasks as needed Qualifications Minimum 1 year of welding experience (laser welding preferred; TIG experience transferable) Experience working with thin-gauge stainless steel preferred Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship Familiarity with precision measuring tools and basic math skills Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn new welding technologies Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 lbs (with assistance) High school diploma or GED required Forklift experience is a plus
