Job Description

Shift:
Monday-Thursday 4:30 pm - 2:00 am, Fridays are often used to catch up on work and may be mandatory to work. If so, a 48-hour notice will be given, but shorter notice may be given for volunteer work hours. The schedule varies on Friday.
Position Summary:
To weld and fabricate parts in accordance with specifications and per company workmanship standards by performing the following functions.
Essential Functions:
Analyze blueprints/drawings, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations Set up and adjust equipment Perform efficient welding of various metal objects, including heavy and light gauge carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless, using both MIG and TIG equipment Layout, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers Report all non-conforming material to the Welding Team Leader and/or Shop Foreman immediately Perform work with the help of various hand and power tools Input and maintain data in ERP computer system/Global Maintain weld equipment and supplies Complete paperwork/job sheets required for the area Must maintain excellent attendance, and expect to work overtime if the need requires Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements:
HS education with a minimum of 2 years of welding experience Possess a solid understanding of welding equipment and welding accessories Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, welding process specifications, and welding symbols Must be able to operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes Must have the ability to weld in all positions with good penetration and quality Must be able to read a tape measure, pressure gauge, level,l, and square Ability and willingness to follow directions as well as the ability to work independently Excellent verbal communication skills Basic computer skills Second Shift Welder 3.0 3.0 out of 5 stars Mebane, NC 27302 Forma-Fab Metals 6 reviews
