Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Rigger / Fabricator to join our dynamic manufacturing and construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, fabricating, and installing metal structures and components with precision and adherence to safety standards. Your expertise in maritime rigging, welding, electrical and mechanical fabrication will ensure the successful completion of projects that meet quality specifications and client expectations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects in the maritime domain, utilizing your technical skills and craftsmanship to contribute to high-quality, durable unmanned platforms. Responsibilities Interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and mechanical blueprints to guide fabrication and assembly processes Operate a variety of power tools, hand tools, measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers), and shop math techniques to cut, shape, weld, and assemble metal materials including sheet metal and ductwork Perform welding using various techniques such as MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), ensuring compliance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards and ASME codes & standards Rig heavy components safely using rigging equipment and techniques suitable for construction sites or fabrication shops Use plasma cutting, press brake machines, pipe threading tools, and CNC machining equipment for precise fabrication tasks Measure, mark, cut, drill, solder, and assemble metal parts accurately according to technical drawings and schematics Adhere strictly to safety protocols during all operations including welding, rigging, machining, and handling heavy materials with forklifts or other lifting devices Maintain detailed records of work performed, inspections conducted, and safety checks completed throughout each project phase Assist with other rigging tasks such as basic wiring, assisting the propulsion and autonomy team, and assisting in field testing environments when required. Skills Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and interpreting mechanical fabrication instructions Strong knowledge of welding techniques including
