Welder -- $25/Hour -- Weekly Pay Job Description This role focuses on welding and fabricating a wide range of structural and miscellaneous steel components, including columns, beams, trusses, bracing, stairs, rails, ladders, and frames. You will use multiple welding processes to produce high‑quality structural welds that meet industry codes while working from blueprints and layout instructions in a busy fabrication environment. Responsibilities Weld and fabricate structural and miscellaneous steel members such as columns, beams, trusses, vertical and horizontal bracing, stairs, rails, ladders, and frames. Perform MIG welding and other structural welding processes to join and assemble steel components according to specifications. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and layouts to determine weld locations, dimensions, and fabrication requirements. Input layouts and settings for machines based on blueprints and job requirements. Essential Skills Ability to perform MIG welding in a structural fabrication environment. Proficiency in SMAW (stick), flux‑cored welding processes, and MIG welding for structural applications. Ability to weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions (1G-4G). Experience following structural steel welding codes such as AWS D1.1 or similar standards. Additional Skills & Qualifications Preferred 6+ months of experience welding structural steel components. Experience working in structural steel fabrication environments. Why Work Here? Work Environment You will work in a busy structural steel fabrication shop with approximately 40 team members on the floor. The environment is industrial and can be dirty, with no air conditioning, so you should be comfortable working in varying temperatures and conditions. First shift typically runs from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and second shift runs from 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Some Saturday overtime is expected for first shift, particularly during the summer and early fall busy season, with about one out of three Saturdays scheduled on average; second shift generally does not work Saturdays. The role requires being on your feet for most of the day and handling heavy materials and equipment. The dress code includes steel‑toe footwear, jeans, appropriate layers for temperature changes, and safety glasses, with additional personal protective equipment provided as needed to maintain a safe working environment Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lincoln, NE. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
