Job Description
Position Overview Fall Fittings Inc. is seeking a skilled and motivated Full-Time Welder / Fabricator to join our growing team in New Paltz, NY. This role involves working with structural steel and miscellaneous metals to fabricate high-quality components in a fast-paced shop environment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret blueprints and measurements accurately. Key Responsibilities Perform welding, cutting, and coping of structural steel and miscellaneous metals Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and technical diagrams Measure, mark, and layout materials using a tape measure and other tools Operate fabrication equipment (saws, torches, grinders, and other shop tools) Ensure all work meets quality standards and specifications Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other departments to complete projects efficiently Maintain a safe and organized work environment following all safety protocols Inspect finished workpieces for accuracy and structural integrity Qualifications & Requirements Proven experience in welding and metal fabrication (structural steel preferred) Proficiency in common welding processes (MIG, TIG, Stick preferred) Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings accurately Strong math and measurement skills, including use of a tape measure Familiarity with fabrication tools and shop equipment Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a physically demanding environment Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team Preferred Qualifications AWS certification or similar welding credentials (a plus, but not required) Experience with structural steel fabrication and installation Forklift or rigging experience Compensation & Benefits Full-time position with competitive pay (based on experience) Overtime opportunities available Comprehensive benefits package including: Health Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401(k) retirement plan Benefits available after a specified waiting period Work Schedule Full-time, typically Monday-Friday Overtime available based on workload and project needs
