Fabricator / Welder - Precast Concrete Forms Suffolk Steel Corp. - Riverhead, NY (On-site, Full-time) Suffolk Steel Corp. in Riverhead, NY is seeking a skilled Fabricator/Welder to help build complex concrete forms and weldments used in the precast concrete industry. We are a growing shop that fabricates high‑quality steel forms and related products for precast producers across the region. About the role You will fabricate, fit, and weld steel components to create reusable concrete forms and other custom weldments used in precast production. You will work from drawings and templates, lay out and assemble parts, and produce accurate, durable weldments that hold up to daily use in a plant environment. Key responsibilities Fabricate and weld steel precast concrete forms and other weldments from drawings and sketches Lay out, fit, and assemble plate, structural shapes, and hardware to close tolerances Perform MIG (and possibly stick) welding on mild and other steels Use shop equipment including cutting torches, grinders, drills, saws, and overhead cranes Inspect work for proper dimensions, weld quality, and overall fit and function Assist in repairing and modifying existing forms and metal components Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and follow all safety procedures Qualifications Prior experience as a fabricator/welder in a shop setting (precast or structural steel experience a plus) Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, sketches, and tape measures Proficient in MIG welding; additional processes are a plus Comfortable with cutting, grinding, drilling, and general metal fabrication practices Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship Ability to lift, move, and handle steel components and stand for extended periods Reliable, safety‑conscious, and able to work as part of a team What we offer Full‑time, steady work in a specialized niche of the precast concrete industry Opportunity to work on a wide variety of complex, custom projects Competitive pay based on experience Potential for overtime as workload requires How to apply To apply, please send your resume and a brief description and/or pictures of your fabrication/welding experience to:
