Job Description
Position Summary The Fabricator is responsible for the fabrication, assembly, welding, finishing, and inspection of custom stainless steel equipment and components used in pharmaceutical and sanitary processing applications. This position requires the ability to work from engineering drawings and work orders to produce high-quality products that meet company standards for workmanship, functionality, and appearance. The Fabricator will perform a variety of manufacturing operations including TIG welding, grinding, polishing, machining, fitting, and mechanical assembly. Successful candidates are self-motivated, detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently while contributing effectively as part of a team. Responsibilities Fabricate, fit, and assemble stainless steel components and equipment according to engineering drawings and specifications. Perform TIG welding, grinding, polishing, and finishing operations to meet sanitary and cosmetic requirements. Operate fabrication equipment including saws, drills, grinders, press brakes, shears, and other shop machinery. Read and interpret engineering drawings, bills of materials, and work orders. Verify dimensions and quality of fabricated components using measuring instruments and inspection techniques. Process jobs and work orders on the production floor while maintaining project schedules and due dates. Collaborate with engineering and production personnel to resolve fabrication and assembly issues. Maintain accurate records of job status and communicate progress to supervisors. Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety procedures, and company policies. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Assist with equipment assembly, testing, packaging, and shipment preparation as required. Requirements Demonstrated experience in metal fabrication, welding, machining, and mechanical assembly. Proficiency in TIG welding stainless steel. Ability to read and interpret mechanical and fabrication drawings. Experience working with stainless steel and sanitary finishes preferred. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship. Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team. Good verbal and written communication skills. Commitment to maintaining a safe workplace. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical shop activities throughout the workday. Education & Experience High School Diploma or equivalent required. Technical school or vocational training in welding, fabrication, or machining preferred. Minimum of 3 years of fabrication experience preferred. Experience fabricating custom equipment or machinery is highly desirable. Experience with sanitary stainless steel fabrication and pharmaceutical equipment is a plus.
