Job Title:
TIG Welder Job Description Join a tight-knit, collaborative weld team in a clean, temperature-controlled manufacturing facility, performing precision TIG welding on stainless steel and aluminum for high-quality, engineered thermal and power conversion equipment. This hands-on production role focuses on delivering strong, consistent weld penetration and clean appearance while working from blueprints and work orders on a variety of parts and positions during a first-shift schedule (6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.). Responsibilities Perform high-quality TIG welding on stainless steel and aluminum components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions. Ensure strong weld penetration and a clean, visually appealing weld appearance on all assigned work. Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, work orders, and cut lists to understand job requirements and specifications. Set up and use fixtures, jigs, and proper tooling to ensure accurate, repeatable welds and part alignment. Inspect welds and finished assemblies to verify they meet specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements. Identify, document, and report weld defects, inconsistencies, or nonconformances to appropriate team members. Work closely with other welders and production staff in a team-based weld department to meet production goals and deadlines. Follow all established safety procedures, quality guidelines, and ISO processes throughout daily work. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including proper handling of equipment and materials. Contribute to a culture of teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement within the weld department and broader operation. Essential Skills 3-5+ years of hands-on TIG welding experience in a production or manufacturing environment. Proven experience welding stainless steel or aluminum components. Ability to weld confidently in vertical, overhead, and flat positions. Demonstrated ability to produce consistent penetration and clean, high-quality welds where appearance is critical. Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols. Prior experience working in a manufacturing or weld shop environment. Strong attention to detail, quality, and adherence to specifications. Comfort working as part of a team in a production-focused weld department. Additional Skills & Qualifications 5+ years of TIG welding experience, particularly on stainless steel and aluminum, is strongly preferred. Experience in custom fabrication or high-mix manufacturing environments. welding precision or engineered products rather than purely repetitive work. Exposure to thermal systems, tanks, or industrial equipment fabrication. Formal welding certification or completion of a welding trade school program. Experience working within an ISO-regulated manufacturing environment. Familiarity with using fixtures, jigs, and proper setups to support accuracy and repeatability. Interest in continuous improvement and ongoing skill development in advanced welding techniques. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a clean, organized, and temperature-controlled manufacturing facility that produces advanced thermal and power conversion equipment. You will work on first shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in a growing department that values positive collaboration and open communication. The weld department operates as a team-based environment, where you work closely with other welders and production staff rather than working alone. You will regularly use TIG welding equipment, fixtures, and jigs while following ISO-aligned processes and safety standards. The overall setting supports focus, quality craftsmanship, and continuous improvement in a modern industrial workspace. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mentor, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $29.00/hr.
