Duties and Responsibilities:
Joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process Designs and fabricates the equipment and parts for special or unusual needs, using manufacture specifications, calculator, measuring devices, and drawings Familiar with and complies with all safety requirements and protocols for working in an industrial environment Participates in continuous improvement (CIP) activity Strictly adheres to Quality standards Adheres to all safety policies and procedures, including the wearing of appropriate personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, etc.
Required Experience & Education:
5+ years of welding experience Must be able to pass a weld test Able to read and interpret blueprints Possess basic math skills and mechanical aptitude Knowledge of specific welding processes, such as TIG, MIG and various other fabrication processes Ability to use heavy machinery, such as forklifts Knowledgeable of safety precautions related to occupational hazards, procedures and practices of the trade Ability to work in a team environment
Please Note:
Work is done in a manufacturing environment in a fabrication shop. Requirements include, but are not limited to: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently Subject to environmental conditions. Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
