PURPOSE:
Designs, fabricates, joins, and repairs equipment, fixtures, and structures by using various welding techniques.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
Plans and performs welding assignments to include fabrication, maintenance, joining, and cutting of ferrous and nonferrous metal parts and structures using a variety of techniques Analyzes plans, drawings, work samples, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements and sequence of welding assignments; performs a variety of welding processes such as gas, arc, brazing, silver soldering, soft soldering and the like on a limited variety of materials such as stainless, aluminum, steel, copper, brass, exotics, etc Performs layout operation, develops fixtures on one-of-a-kind units, and selects optimum welding processes; operates drill presses, power saws, grinders, metal lathes, and other welder equipment and hand tools Monitors and report inventory levels; recommends supplies and materials to be ordered May perform related work such as flame cutting, bending, forming, beveling notching template making Performs MIG, TIF, and Stick welding as well as Brazing (Carbide welding) and plasma cutting Pipe fitting
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School Diploma/Equivalent Work Experience:
0-2 years
Related Experience:
May have experience in lieu of education or any equivalent combination of education and experience Valid driver's license and acceptable driving history
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Welding Work Experience:
2-4 years

Previous carbide experience Previous carbide experience Working knowledge of welding techniques
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
