Job Title:
TIG Welder Job Description We are seeking a skilled TIG Welder with over 5 years of experience in stainless steel welding. The position involves fitting, positioning, aligning, and welding fabricated plates, structural shapes, and weldments preparatory to assembly into structural fabricated products according to engineering drawings. Responsibilities Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to plan welding operations. Determine required equipment and welding method, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques. Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and ruler. Develop templates and other work aids to hold and align parts. Ensure the quality of finished goods is in line with company standards and meets drawing specifications. Fit, tack, weld, and flatten various parts according to the dimensions and specifications on the engineering drawings. Complete assigned duties on schedule per the direction of the Production Supervisor. Track and record timekeeping accurately and in a timely manner. When necessary, complete redline/engineering request forms with clear and complete information, in accordance with the redline procedure. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Treat company tools and equipment with care, returning them to their proper location when not in use. Set-up and operate required machinery for the determined welding method. Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces to ensure conformance with specifications. Essential Skills Proficient in TIG welding and stainless steel welding. Able to read blueprints and recognize welding symbols and specifications. Extensive knowledge of specific welding processes, specifically TIG and MIG. Ability to execute and meet deadlines, ensuring & emphasizing attention to detail. Able to work both autonomously and as part of a team. Basic English, written and verbal. Ability to use a variety of tools and equipment. Able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs, unassisted. Able to meet a combination of physical demands of the position such as: sitting, walking, kneeling, bending, reaching, squatting, or standing for at least 8 hours per day. Additional Skills & Qualifications Proficiency in MIG welding. Experience in blueprint reading and sheet metal fabrication. Ability to develop and use templates for alignment purposes. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a clean weld shop with bench work, alongside fab machines and larger production weld areas. The role operates on a shift from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilsonville, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr.
