  • 1st Shift Welder
  • Job Description
  • This role focuses on structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication, including reading and following engineering blueprints, fitting and aligning structural components, and performing high-quality structural welding.
You will work with a variety of steel products such as plate steel tanks and bins, stairs and handrails, joists and deck, highway guardrail, pipe bollards, and general warehouse steel, ensuring all work meets industrial standards and inspection requirements.
  • Responsibilities
  • + Read and interpret engineering blueprints to understand specifications, dimensions, and welding requirements for structural projects.
+ Align, fit, and assemble structural components such as beams, trusses, angles, platforms, joists, and deck according to design and safety standards. + Perform structural welding on I-beams and other steel components using processes such as MIG and flux core, including 1G and 2G positions. + Carry out miscellaneous steel fabrication, including plate steel fabrication for tanks, bins, stairs, handrails, highway guardrail, pipe bollards, and warehouse steel structures. + Conduct visual inspections of welds and fabricated components to verify quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications. + Use grinders and other hand tools to prepare, finish, and smooth welds and metal surfaces as required. + Follow production schedules and meet output targets while maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety. + Practice and refine welding techniques, including performing weld tests such as 2G horizontal or 3G vertical, to demonstrate and maintain proficiency. + Handle and move materials and components, including lifting up to 50 lbs, in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Work Environment
  • The work takes place across two fabrication sites in the Allentown and Bethlehem, PA area, operating on two shifts to support ongoing production needs.
The facilities are dimly lit and not temperature-controlled, so you should be comfortable working in varying lighting and climate conditions typical of heavy industrial environments. You will use welding machines, grinders, hand tools, and inspection tools while working around structural steel, plate steel, and miscellaneous metal components in a busy, production-focused setting. Appropriate workwear and personal protective equipment are expected to ensure safety and comfort in this industrial fabrication environment.

  • This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bethlehem, PA.
  • Pay and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $20.
00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
