Role Overview:

The Welder is responsible for performing basic welding and steel fabrication tasks in support of the production of structural steel components for construction projects. This position involves reading shop drawings, measuring, cutting, fitting, and welding steel parts according to specified tolerances and quality standards. Primary Responsibilities Interpret and use prints and sketches to perform layout and welding techniques for structural steel fabrication. Perform general material handling functions, such as; jobsite clean-up and moving of materials by hand. Operate motorized equipment including welding, air arcing, bolting, grinding, use of cutting torch, hammers, reamers, tape measures and overhead crane operation. Perform all job duties following company safety rules and proper use of assigned personal protective equipment. Minimum Qualifications Certified Welder specializing in field operations, with proven ability to complete structural and equipment welding at remote job sites. Knowledge and ability to interpret and use prints and sketches to perform layout and welding techniques for structural steel fabrication. Pass AWS Welding Test on a one-inch grove test in the horizontal position. Ability to frequently lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds of material. Ability to frequently walk, stoop, kneel, reach and climb. Ability to successfully use hand tools such as those listed under position responsibilities. Work requires alert individuals with good balance and physical strength. Experience with heavy flux core wire feed welding. TWIC card preferred but not required. Ability to obtain one is required.
