POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Welder to join our team. The Welder will be responsible for joining, cutting, and repairing metal and other materials using welding equipment. The ideal candidate should be able to work with various welding techniques, read blueprints or technical drawings, and follow safety protocols to ensure high-quality and durable work. Essential Responsibilities 1.
Welding Operations:
Perform welding tasks using different techniques such as MIG, TIG, Stick, and arc welding. Weld, cut, and fabricate metal components as per project requirements and technical drawings. Ensure all welding work is performed with precision and to specified quality standards. 2.
Safety Compliance:
Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents or injuries. Maintain and use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, helmets, and masks. Inspect workpieces for defects before and after welding and correct any issues. 3.
Blueprint Interpretation:
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, or schematics to determine welding requirements. Ensure welding work meets specified measurements, alignment, and tolerances. 4.
Maintenance of Equipment:
Maintain and repair welding machines, tools, and other equipment used in the welding process. Regularly inspect and clean welding equipment to ensure proper functionality. 5.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with other team members, engineers, or supervisors to plan and execute welding tasks. Communicate any challenges or issues with the welding process to supervisors in a timely manner. 6.
Quality Control:
Ensure that welding joints meet industry standards and specifications. Conduct inspections of completed welds using tools like micrometers, calipers, or visual inspection to check for accuracy. Requirements Proven experience as a Welder or in a similar role. Proficiency in various welding techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick). Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Strong knowledge of welding materials and metal properties. Excellent attention to detail and ability to perform quality checks on completed work. Ability to work in various environments (e.g., outdoor, industrial settings). Good physical strength and stamina, capable of working in a physically demanding environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in welding (e.g., AWS, ASME). Experience with advanced welding technologies or automation. Knowledge of CAD software for design interpretation (a plus).
