Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder to join our manufacturing team and work on transformers. The Welder is responsible for assembling and welding metal components used in power and distribution transformers, such as tanks, radiators, conservators, and structural frames. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with welding techniques and can interpret engineering drawings to ensure high-quality and precise builds. The hours for this position are Monday-Friday 6:00am to 2:30pm. Weld and assemble transformer components including: Transformer tanks (oil-filled or dry-type) Radiator fins and brackets Lifting lugs, base channels, conservators, and other structural parts Use MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding techniques based on material and project requirements. Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding specifications. Ensure proper fit-up and alignment of welded parts using jigs, clamps, and measuring tools. Perform grinding, cutting, and surface preparation prior to and after welding. Conduct pre-weld and post-weld inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards. Repair cracks, leaks, or damage on transformer tanks or components as required. Operate hand tools, overhead cranes, forklifts, and other shop equipment safely. Maintain welding equipment and tools provided by the organization. Communicate with engineering, quality, and production teams regarding design changes. Support continuous improvement efforts Following all safety protocols which includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), respirator, glove, safety glasses, etc. Maintain safe, clean, and orderly workstation. Other assigned duties as needed.
