Job Description

Aerotek is hiring MIG Welder /
Fabricator Shift:
1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts
Pay:
$23+ depending on experience Responsibilities Perform MIG welding as the primary welding process on various metals, with occasional TIG and stick welding as required for specific items. Position, fit, align, and weld products according to specifications, engineering drawings, and weld symbols. Fit and grind manufactured parts to final dimensions, using appropriate tools and quality instruments to ensure accuracy and adherence to tolerances. Read and interpret blueprints and prints to correctly fit components, measure, and cut materials when needed. Use measuring tools such as tape measures and other precision instruments to verify dimensions and ensure parts meet specifications. Utilize flux core and structural welding techniques where applicable to support production needs. Partner with other departments to support a smooth production flow and maintain quality assurance for customer orders. Follow established production processes and schedules while maintaining a high level of workmanship and efficiency. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, following all safety policies and procedures. Use required personal protective equipment, including hearing and eye protection, and follow safe work practices in a loud manufacturing environment. Participate in overtime work as needed, including potential weekend and Sunday shifts, to support production demands. Essential Skills 2 to 5 years of experience in welding within manufacturing or a related field. Strong knowledge of MIG welding processes and techniques. Ability to read and interpret weld symbols and engineering drawings. Capability to pass a weld test demonstrating proficiency in required welding methods. Experience with MIG welding, flux core welding, and structural welding applications. Proficiency in using grinding tools and equipment to finish welded components. Ability to accurately use tape measures and other measuring tools for fitting and cutting components. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, accurate work. Ability to work independently, especially on small maintenance or production teams. High school diploma or GED. Additional Skills & Qualifications Schooling or formal certifications in welding are preferred. At least 2 years of welding experience may be considered in place of formal schooling or certifications. Experience with pressure vessel welding is a strong plus. Experience with light pipe welding is preferred but not required. Comfort working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Willingness to work different shifts and overtime, including weekends and Sundays, as needed. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a temperature-controlled manufacturing facility that is clean, well-organized, and thoughtfully laid out.
Multiple shifts are available:
a first shift running Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., a second shift running Monday through Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., and a third shift running Sunday through Thursday from 10:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Overtime is possible on weekends for all shifts, and overtime may be required for second shift every other Saturday. Average weekly hours typically range from 40 to 50, with double-time pay for all Sunday work and for any hours over 60 in a week. For example, a third shift technician working Saturday night into Sunday morning receives double-time pay for that shift, and a second shift technician working on Sunday receives double-time as well. The second shift team is relatively small, and independent work is often required. Uniforms are available through a uniform service for those who wish to use it, or employees may wear their own work clothes. Appropriate attire includes jeans or work pants, short-sleeved shirts, and steel-toe boots. Some tasks require the use of cut-resistant gloves. The plant is loud in some areas, and hearing and eye protection are required at all times in designated zones, ensuring a safety-focused environment for all employees. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jackson, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.50/hr.
