Job Description

The MIG Welder is responsible for fabricating metal products according to employer and customer specifications through the use of welders, cutters, shapers and metal tools.
Principal Accountabilities:
(The following is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. It is not an exhaustive list of all expectations.) : Create quality welds according to blueprints by using and understanding weld symbols Inspect welds for accuracy Prepare product to be welded by drilling, milling, tapping and cutting steel/aluminum parts Remove and replace welding consumables, such as gas tanks and spooled wire as needed Responsible for the proper packaging, identifying and moving of all finished products to the proper location Ensure all equipment is properly set-up and used in a safe manner and that all safety devices are in use Operate fork lift, if required and trained Performs first piece inspections as well as all subsequent inspections as required by AOC standards Monitor equipment and request maintenance when required Perform simple maintenance and repair as required Must be able to lift 50 lbs occasionally multiple times Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed Willingness to cross train and work in all areas of the warehouse Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations Education, Knowledge, Experience and Skills Required for
Position :
High school diploma or equivalent Basic computer skills required AWS certification or 5+ years of welding experience/prototype welding Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures Experience using electrical or manual tools Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings Must have strong attention to detail and be quality oriented Must work in a safe manner and wear PPE as required Ability to work in a hot/cold warehouse environment
